Hemp4Water® works by phytoremediation. Our plants are bred to absorb phosphates and to a lesser degree nitrates while floating on mats. Mats can be weaved together to form lightweight moveable platforms. By combining mats into larger platforms, we can accommodate the number of plants needed to remove excess phosphates. Simple really.

This one-and-done method allows us to clean a body of water of harmful levels of phosphates. Phosphates will build up again over time unless long-term solutions are employed. Hemp4Water® believes that by setting aside key marshlands as Water Hubs we can bolster the natural power of phytoremediation and send cleaner water to Lake Okeechobee, Ft Myers, and the Indian River Lagoon.

We can start now with your help! We are seeking private partners to purchase/lease environmentally sensitive lands. Our project adds hemp to the marsh areas and will monitor the nutrient loads in water leaving the area.
